This song was originally written in the mid-1980's, but the music was completely re-written in 2020. The style of this song is somewhat different to anything I have released to date and was basically driven around the vocalist that I used - an award winning young American singer called Kristina Sarro.

From the first time I heard her voice I wanted to work with her, but realised that based on her own singing preferences that she would unlikely be interested in singing a typical rock style song. So I re-did the music completely and was fortunate that she agreed to sing for me.

I think her vocal work is absolutely amazing and I feel very fortunate that I was able to work together with her.

The song itself is about a couple breaking up and one of them providing advice to the other as they move to a different country to lives their lives apart.

Lyrics

SOMETIMES

VERSE 1
You went away
Left hard times to start again
But can you let go?
In a new land – let the real you show

VERSE 2
Don’t think of today
You don’t need to give yourself away
Time’s on your side
You should wait for the changing tide

CHORUS
Sometimes it must get hard
Waiting to get dealt the right card
Sometimes you just have to say
“Sometimes it won’t all go my way”

BRIDGE
Ooh…………. Yeah
Ooh Sometimes…..Ooh Sometimes
Yeah yeah oh sometimes………Yeah yeah oh sometimes

VERSE 3
I think you're searching
For you lost some piece of yourself
So look carefully
You mightn’t like what it has become

VERSE 4
I’m still waiting
Clock stopped when you closed my door
I take my chances
Unfinished poems and intricate dances

CHORUS
Sometimes it must get hard
Waiting to get dealt the right card
Sometimes you just have to say
“Sometimes it won’t all go my way”

Sometimes it must get hard
Waiting to get dealt the right card
Sometimes you just have to say
“Sometimes it won’t all go my way”
