Composed 2018.
This song was inspired by the many women who have taken a stand against domestic violence. I wanted this song to get an important message across but to do it in more of a "story telling" style.

Lyrics

STANDING IN THE RAIN
Verse 1
She’s standing in the rain
Dress torn, face racked with pain
Blood on her hands
Not hers – but some man’s

Chorus
She could take no more
What does she stay for?
No one there for her
She had to take a stand

Verse 2
She shivers in the cold
So young, but she feels so old
A life of constant fear
Wished she could just disappear

Chorus
She could take no more
What does she stay for?
No one there for her
She had to take a stand

Verse 3
She walks down the road
Bent, she struggles with her load
Stares into the dark
There’s one light, just for her

Chorus
She could take no more
What does she stay for?
No one there for her
She had to take a stand

Bridge
Stood over her
Rage is in his eyes
Clenched his fists
Suffers and she cries
Something breaks in her
Turns and stands up tall
She moves forward
Just watch the “mighty” fall

Chorus
She could take no more
What does she stay for?
No one there for her
She had to take a stand

Outro
She could take no more
What does she stay for?
No one there for her
She had to take a stand
She has to take a stand
She has to take a stand
